Estate Administration and Advisory

For many estates, someone will need to apply for a Certificate of Appointment of Estate Trustee – a process commonly known as “probate”.  This Certificate is used to validate the appointment of the Estate Trustee (commonly referred to as “Executor”) and allow them to administer the deceased’s estate.

Very often, the person applying for the Certificate will be making this application for the first time, or they may not be familiar with the obligations that will be imposed upon them as Estate Trustees.  Applying for this Certificate, and acting as an Estate Trustee thereafter, is a very important task that comes with many rights, obligations and potential for liability that you should be aware of.
